Organ Music Ministry

The power of sacred music increases the honor given to God by the Church in union with Christ, its Head. Sacred music likewise helps to increase the fruits which the faithful, moved by the sacred harmonies, derive from the holy liturgy. These fruits . . . manifest themselves in a life and conduct worthy of a Christian.

Choirs of St. Mary  Music Ministry

The Adult Choir, whose membership is open to anyone high school age or higher, renders its ministry every Sunday at the 10:00am Mass, as well as on Feasts and Solemnities throughout the Church Year. Its repertoire spans the past six centuries and includes traditional Gregorian chant, sacred polyphony and modern compositions.

The Chamber Choir, open by audition, sings for Feasts and Solemnities throughout the year, as well as for Morning, Evening, and Night Prayer during Advent, Lent and the Triduum. Its repertoire consists mainly of music from the 16th to 18th centuries and Gregorian chant.

The Saint Mary Schola Cantorum is open to men and women of high school age or higher. The Schola Cantorum is made up of two independent groups: the men's Schola and the Women's Schola. Both ensembles prepare and sing the Gregorian Chant Propers for Advent and Christmas, Lent and Easter, and other Holy Days and Feasts throughout the year. The Schola Cantorum also travels to sing for Extraordinary Form Masses at other churches in central New Jersey.

The Children's Choir, open to students in grades 3 to 8, sings every other week at the 12 noon Mass and prayerfully renders music from all periods.
