This Sunday, October 15 / Opening of Kimberly's Prayer Garden

Prayer GardenKimberly's Prayer Garden was created to honor the life of Kimberly DiMartino and provide a space to offer peace and comfort to others while helping the family through a difficult time.  The parishioners’ positive feedback on the beautification of St. Mary's property has been heartwarming to hear.  Please join Father Dennis next Sunday, October 15, following the 12 p.m. Mass, as he blesses the new Garden. Coffee and cake will be available in St. Patrick's Hall after the Blessing.

Sunday, October 15 / Music at St. Mary's

MusicNext Sunday, October 15, at 4 p.m., Music at Saint Mary’s presents duo organists, David McCarthy and Christopher Deibert, as they once again go head-to-head in a Battle Royale on the King of Instruments.  This program will feature the dynamic duo improvising on audience-submitted themes, both individually and in duet-style, as well as performing both French Classic/Baroque and French Romantic repertoire.  Don’t miss this fun concert!  Free admission ($15 donation suggested).  A wine and cheese Meet-the-Artists reception will follow.  For questions, please call MASM at 732-857-0202.

Thursday, October 19 / Youth Group Fundraiser

T.G.I. Friday's - The St. Mary Youth Group will be holding a Benefit Night on Thursday, October 19, from 5-10 p.m. at T.G.I. Friday's on Rte. 9 North in Old Bridge. The parish community is invited to come together to have dinner with their friends and family that evening at 6 p.m. The Youth Group will receive 20% of each purchase that evening when you mention St. Mary Youth Group to the server.

Sunday, October 29 / Blood Drive at Saint Mary Church

Blood DriveThere will be a blood drive on Sunday, October 29, in the school cafeteria, from 8:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Please bring ID and remember to eat before you donate. Donors should be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Homemade goodies will be served, walk-ins are welcome! Sunday, November 12 / Ethnic Pot Luck Supper!

Please come and join our parish for our ethnic pot luck supper to be held:

Time: 4 – 6 p.m.
Place: St. Mary’s School Cafeteria

Bring your favorite ethnic dish to share. Sign up sheets will be available in the vestibule of the church before and after each Mass during the weekends of October 28/29 and November 4/5. Saturday, December 2 / Bus Trip to Sands Casino

CasinoSaint Mary’s Church is running a bus trip to the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, December 2.  The cost is $35 per person, with a give-back of a $20 slot voucher and a $5 food voucher.  The bus will leave the school parking lot (Second Street) at 9 a.m. and will return from the Sands around 6 p.m.  There will be snacks, 50/50, raffles and lots of fun and laughter!  To reserve your seat, please call Angel at 732-501-5133.

Saint Mary Food Pantry / Thanksgiving Items NeededThanksgiving

The Saint Mary Food Pantry is asking for your help with donations for Thanksgiving.  Here is a list of food items that are needed:  pie crust, pie filling, yams, stuffing, turkeys, gravy, tea and coffee.  No cranberry sauce, please.  All donations are greatly appreciated!  Please place all items in a bag and leave in the back of the church before or after Masses.  Thank you

Coupons are needed! Food, baby products and pet products coupons – we use these three types of coupons to support those serving in the military. You do not need to cut the coupons; you can just leave the sheets of coupons in the marked box in the church vestibule. Thank you in advance for your support.

A Note from St. Mary's Food Pantry

PantryThe Food Pantry appreciates all that you do for those in need. Just a reminder – please do not leave food on the rectory steps or porches. ALL food should be left in the back of the church or in St. Theresa's chapel. Also, please check expiration dates. We cannot distribute expired food and must throw it out. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.

Teachers Aides Needed

We are in need of substitute teachers for our Religious Education Program.  Classes are Tuesdays, from 4:30 – 6 p.m. and Thursdays from 6:30 – 8 p.m.  If you can help out on either of those days, please call Kevin at 732-721-1514.

Altar Servers Needed

Altar ServersAltar Servers are needed for all Masses – we welcome students in grade 3 and up who have made their First Communion to become a server.  Three short training sessions take place before being scheduled and new servers are always paired with veterans while they are learning.  Anyone who is interested should contact the Director of Religious Education at kschnelldirector@gmail.com or see any priest or deacon after Mass.

Greeters

Greeters Anyone wishing to greet fellow parishioners and visitors as they enter the church, or hand out bulletins as they exit after Mass are encouraged to do so. Responding in a special way to Pope Francis' visit to the United States, we especially encourage families to take part in this activity as a group. There's
no commitment, and you never know how holding the door for someone or a kind "good morning" affects someone. Anyone who would like more information may call Pat Regan at 732-727-2768.
